Track your purchases on the Order page. With a detailed overview of purchase history, you can check what was purchased, by whom, and when, for both traceability and accountability.

Assign additional Portal Users for your organisation to allow regional centres and departments to manage their own licensing and purchasing. Control the hierarchy by designating specific roles and responsibilities for your users.

Review your Microsoft licensing summary to see all the licences you have in play. Drill down for product mappings, quantities, and statuses to help you optimise consumption. Unused, unconsumed licences can be released, so that you only pay for what you actively use.

BUI Online Billing

Billing is handled by the BUI accounts department. BUI Online is integrated with our internal systems and we’re able to generate customised invoices based on your consumption.

Your monthly invoice will reflect applicable licence-based services, usage-based services, Azure Plan services, and any transactions completed through the BUI Online platform.

For CSP customers with licence-based and metered services only

  • Licence-based services (per user) and other monthly metered services (such as Reservations and Marketplace items) follow a monthly cycle from the 22nd of the month until the 21st of the following month.
  • You are invoiced on the 1st of the month, for the prior period.
  • Your invoice includes any transactions completed through BUI Online.

For CSP customers on Azure Plan

  • The Azure Plan billing period is from the 1st of the month until the last day of the month.
  • We receive Microsoft’s invoice on the 8th of the month, and we are able to send your Azure Plan invoice two business days later.
  • If you use Azure Plan alongside other monthly services, we prepare a combined monthly invoice for you.
  • The combined monthly invoice includes Azure Plan, applicable licence-based services, applicable metered services, and any transactions completed through BUI Online.
  • You are invoiced two business days after the 8th day of the month.

Frequently Asked Questions

I receive my invoice in South African Rand (ZAR). How is the exchange rate calculated?

BUI invoices customers in their local currency as required. Microsoft prices online services in USD and determines the applicable exchange rate on a monthly basis, using the following process:

“Microsoft applies a predetermined exchange rate to base USD prices to arrive at total charges incurred for Azure services purchased or consumed each calendar month. The monthly exchange rate is the mid-rate published by Thomson Reuters (typically) two business days prior to the preceding month-end at 4:00 pm GMT.

The currency exchange rate is indicated on your monthly invoice from BUI.
